The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), operating under the auspices of the UN Secretary-General, was established to mobilize academia, research institutes, civil society, and the business sector in driving systemic change and in creating practical solutions for sustainable development at the local, national, and global levels.

The Sustainable Development Solutions Network Philippines (SDSN Philippines) was established on August 3, 2015, when over 300 participants from the universities, civil society, the business sector, the Philippine Government, and the international community convened in Manila and agreed to emphasize the need to address sustainable development challenges in the Philippines.

SDSN Philippines envisions a network of academia, research institutes, civil society, business, government, and youth sector, that contributes to the attainment of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). It utilizes an integrated, participatory and multi-sectoral approach in catalyzing systemic change through knowledge generation and innovative solutions to local, national and global challenges.

The SDSN mobilizes the world’s knowledge community for science-based solutions for sustainable development.
  • Promotion of the SDGs as the accepted international framework for development planning and investment over the next 15 years.

  • Application of an integrated, participatory, multi-sectoral approach for tackling complex problems such as poverty, food security, disaster risk and climate change.

  • Participation in a global network of knowledge institutions, each of which is also networked nationally and regionally, while dedicated to sustainable development.
